1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information when you visit, use or make a purchase from infrarelief.com.au.

InfraRelief, ABN 58 522 510 571, of 241 Adelaide Street, Level 1 Suite 1105, Brisbane QLD 4000, is the entity responsible for the personal information collected through this website. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean InfraRelief.

We handle your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. The information we collect 

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to emails or contact our support team, we collect your name, email address, postal and delivery address, phone number and the details of your order.

Payment information. We do not collect or store your full card number. Payments are processed by our payment providers, including Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay. Those providers handle your card details directly under their own privacy policies. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the transaction amount and the last four digits of the card.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we collect your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring website, the pages you viewed, the time spent on them and the links you clicked. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in section 6.

Information from others. We may receive information about you from our payment providers, our shipping carriers and our marketing platforms where you have interacted with us through them.

We do not collect sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act, including health information, and you should not send us any.

3. Why we collect and use it

We use your personal information to:

  • process, fulfil and deliver your order, and to issue receipts and order updates
  • communicate with you about an order, a return, a refund or a support enquiry
  • send you marketing emails and SMS where you have asked to receive them
  • screen orders for fraud and protect against unauthorised or unlawful activity
  • understand how our site is used so we can improve it
  • meet our obligations under Australian Consumer Law, taxation law and other applicable laws

We will not use your personal information for a purpose unrelated to those above unless you would reasonably expect it or you have consented.

4. Who we share it with

We disclose your personal information only to parties who need it to deliver our service to you:

  • Shopify Inc., which hosts our online store and processes transactions
  • Payment providers, including Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay
  • Shipping and logistics providers, including Australia Post and our courier partners, who receive your name, delivery address and phone number so your order can be delivered
  • Email and SMS marketing platforms, where you have subscribed
  • Analytics providers, which receive de-identified usage data
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where reasonably required
  • Government agencies, regulators or law enforcement, where we are required or authorised by law

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process data outside Australia. Shopify stores data in Canada and the United States, and our analytics and email providers may store data in the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom.

By providing your personal information to us, you consent to it being disclosed to these overseas recipients. We take reasonable steps to ensure that recipients handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, but we may not be able to control or ensure their ongoing compliance with Australian law.

6. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit our site. We use them to keep items in your cart, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, measure site performance and understand which pages are popular.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is sent. If you block cookies, parts of the site, including the cart and checkout, may not work properly.

7. Marketing and how to opt out

If you have subscribed, we may send you emails or SMS messages about products, offers and news. Every email contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can reply STOP to any SMS. 

Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you have placed, such as a shipping confirmation.

8. How we keep your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our site uses SSL encryption, and access to customer records is limited to staff who need it to do their job.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. How long we keep it

We keep order records for seven years to meet our obligations under Australian taxation law. Marketing subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept for up to twenty six months. Where we no longer need your personal information and we are not required by law to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. 

We may ask you to verify your identity before we release any information. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.

11. Making a complaint

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first using our contact form or by post at 241 Adelaide Street, Level 1 Suite 1105, Brisbane QLD 4000. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and respond within thirty days.

12. Children

Our products and this website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. The current version is always available at infrarelief.com.au/policies/privacy-policy and the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
